Abstract

English language instruction is crucial for students in elementary school to deal with the challenges of globalization, particularly when it comes to speaking. However, the main issue that is frequently mentioned is the young person's lack of confidence when speaking English in a formal manner. The goal of this public education program is to maximize children's speaking confidence through the use of visual, interactive, and engaging flashcard media. The mitra kegiatan consists of ten children aged 6 to 12 who play golf at Perumahan Citra Golf and are identified as having a low level of self-confidence based on pre-test and awal observation results. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involves problem identification, program implementation, activity execution, and evaluation. The program is carried out over the course of one year through 60-minute sessions of pendampingan. The activity's results indicate a significant increase, which is represented by a rata-rata increase from 6.7 at the pre-test to 14.7 at the post-test. The normalized gain of approximately 0.73 indicates the tinggi peningkatan category. In addition, in a qualitative manner, the participants describe the change in perilaku as an increase in bicara keberanian, an initiative in communication, and a decrease in rasa malu. Active mitra participation and human connection are factors that contribute to the program's success.
