Abstract

Teluk Payo Village has great potential in developing a creative economy based on local resources, especially coconut, which is one of the main commodities of the village community. Most people only use coconut meat for daily consumption or sell it raw to the market. The community service program in Teluk Payo Village aims to empower the community through the use of coconut shells as raw materials for environmentally friendly products in order to encourage the growth of the creative economy and the use of digital technology in marketing local products. The implementation method includes mapping village potential, technical training, entrepreneurial mentoring, and evaluation of achievement. Before the service, the majority of 65% of participants had no experience in processing coconut shells, while the other 35% already had experience. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in technical skills, from only 15% of participants who understood coconut shell processing before the activity to 90% after the training. In addition, 70% of participants were able to utilize digital marketing to market their products, and 40% managed to earn additional income. The level of participant satisfaction was very high, reaching 87%, with the majority stating that they were satisfied and very satisfied, only a small portion stating that they were quite satisfied (10%) and less satisfied (3%), reflecting the effectiveness of the program in responding to community needs. This activity proves that the utilization of coconut shell waste can be a source of new creative economy, mastery of digital technology was chosen because it is an important prerequisite in expanding market access and increasing the competitiveness of local products in the current digital economy era, although limitations in terms of capital and market access are still challenges and time for mentoring and the lack of production facilities are still obstacles that need to be improved in the next program.
